imm1-1.jpgYaoundé city centre will soon radiate its beauty.  Remained for a long time as a mortgage pressing on the beautification efforts of the Cameroonian capital, the ministerial building n°1 nicknamed “building of the death” ( due to suppose or real criminal acts perpetrated there), is in the course of completion. It was the representative of Prime Minister, Head of government, Mr. Clobert TCHATAT , the Minister of Urban Development and housing who, by putting-up the first coat of paint, launched the rehabilitation works of this building whose construction process came to stop at the level of finish touches more than 20 years ago while 85% of the work had been done. The task of works completion is now the responsibility of the National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS) witch has a 24 months period to do so.
The Head of state President Paul BIYA had , 26 years ago , futuristic vision of the capital city Yaoundé, by instructing the construction of Ministerial building n°1 and  2 , by locating them in the midst of the city, “their beautifying effect added up to the economic and social  interests of these investment”, stated Mr. Clobert TCHATAT, the Prime Minister representative. The government is grateful (to CNPS) for these results and provides full support to the National Social Insurance Fund in the fulfillment of its noble social mission. Mr. Clobert TCHATAT added that the launching of the ministerial building n°1 rehabilitation “perfectly illustrates the government’s will to continue and consolidate the great ambition program coined by His Excellency President Paul BIYA. The Ministerial building n°1 is an edifice designed by a German architect and built by a Greek enterprise. The constructed floor is 300 000 square meters, 18 floors with a parking which can accommodate 276 vehicles. The completion works of this building have been awarded to the Chinese enterprise Shanxi construction engineering which has displayed its know-how in the construction of the Yaoundé multipurpose sports complex.
